Frequently Asked Questions
Is Coaching For Me?
It is our belief that everyone can use some assistance to adapt to change, prevent reoccurring problems or to enhance personal performance. Working with a coach will crystallize your situation and keep you on track. Verbalizing concerns about your business or personal life can be a very dynamic and enlightening experience. No other type of training puts the individual's needs and concerns first. Your strengths, doubts, dreams and constraints become part of the solution.
What Exactly Happens in Coaching?
First and foremost coaching is a one-to-one confidential process. It is designed to bring out your best, to enhance your present abilities, sharpen your skills and accelerate your success -- regardless of how you define success.
The relationship between a coach and client is Co-Creative, meaning that we are equals and both have an active role. We are not therapists or counselors. We are trained coaches using honed communication skills to support you as a detached thinking partner. Together we create more power for you to effect meaningful change and take dynamic actions towards your goals.
If you are considering coaching, you may sign up to test drive a 45-minute coaching experience. During this session, we will answer any questions you may have and give you an overview of how the process evolves.
Purposeful dialogue is at the heart of coaching. Goals will be established and the client will be supported, encouraged, and challenged as they explore new ideas and options. Various assessment tools may be recommended. These assessments give the client a mirror by which they are able to view their own behavior, to become self-aware, identify developmental issues, do problem solving or adjust their perspective according to their needs, capability and motivation.
Do you offer Organizational Consulting?
Absolutely! We offer organizational consulting to help businesses formally define what is important for them to do in order to achieve their vision of success. We will work with you or your senior management team to put a Strategic Plan, Action Plan, or Leadership Development Plan in place.
What types of executive coaching will work best for us?
The answer to this is best determined by the level and number of leaders that need to be coached. For example, if the organization has one or two leaders who are lagging behind other leaders in the effective use of people and leadership skills, then a more individualized coaching approach is appropriate.
On the other hand, some organizations have a cadre of tier one leaders that need to transition from technical employee responsibilities into leadership roles within the same time frame. In this case, the leaders may be better served by group training as well as individualized coaching.
What makes your service unique?
First, we take a practical, hands-on approach. We understand the theory but our strength is applying the theory to help managers with practical solutions for success.
How do you measure success?
We obtain metrics at the beginning and end of a coaching project using 360 degree feedback questionnaires. We also interview a leader’s constituents before, during, and after our coaching interventions so that the leader and those to whom he or she reports have a clear understanding of the individual’s progress.
